IronMind aims to bring together students from different cities who are interested in expanding their knowledge beyond the curriculum and engage in meaningful discussion with their peers on matters pertinent to them in a fun, competitive and diverse environment.

It challenges students to display their skills in public speaking, discuss global issues with their peers from different backgrounds to propose solutions to them through the integration of knowledge from different disciplines.

Creative Writing

While it may seem that creative writing is something that only liberal arts majors and people in writing careers need, the ability to write well and to communicate effectively is important in many different places.

Spelling Bee

A spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of words, usually with a varying degree of difficulty. To compete, contestants must memorize the spellings of words as written in dictionaries, and recite them accordingly.

Public Speaking

Most people, at some point in their life, will need to stand up and speak in front of a group of people. Practicing students the necessary skills for doing this will therefore help them to do this more successfully. As a result of the practice, students often report an increase in general confidence as well as a marked sense of achievement.

Team Rounds

Team Debates

Debates are designed to help students understand essential critical-thinking and presentation skills. Team debates can nurture rational thinking, citizenship, manners, organization of thoughts, persuasion and public speaking. Student debate has the capability to deeply engage the students in relevant learning and to inspire students to be deep thinkers. More than just arguing, the structure and rules of a debate are designed to keep both sides calm.

Brain Rain

Brain Rain is an intellectual game which is designed to form and develop eight key competences of students: collaboration, communication, critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, team-building, active learning and decision making.

English Proficiency Contest

The English Proficiency Test consists of open and closed-ended questions in grammar. For the Junior League, questions correspond with levels A2 and B1 of the CEFR, whereas for the Senior League the questions correspond with levels B2 and upwards.
